Bursary Program
The Nudgee College Bursary Program offers a partial reduction in College tuition and/or boarding fees, to assist families who wish their sons to benefit from a Nudgee College education. A number of bursaries will be available in 2012 and 2013 to new students entering Years 8–11.
How do I apply?
Bursary applications are accepted in two ways:
- Formal Examination - This is achieved via the Australian Council for Education Research's (ACER) scholarship programs. This includes the Co-operative Scholarship Test Program (CSTP) for students entering Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 in 2013. The 2012 exam (for entry in 2013) will be conducted on Saturday 25th February. Registration for the ACER scholarship exams are available through our website by clicking here. Registrations close February 6th, 2012.
- Submission of Detailed Curriculum Vitae - This option specifically applies to young men at an elite academic, sporting and cultural level as well as young men who have demonstrated exceptional service to the community, wishing to gain entry into Nudgee College. Submissions are assessed on a case by case basis.
Submissions should be addressed to:
Enrolments Registrar
St Joseph's Nudgee College
PO Box 130, Virginia, Q 4014Submissions will be accepted throughout the year. Each submission should include full details of your son's achievements in his area of expertise, together with the latest copy of his school report.
Invitation for Interview
Short-listed candidates will be required to attend an interview, along with their parent(s)/guardian(s). Some applicants may be asked to complete further assessment tests.
How long does a bursary last?
The term of a bursary will be negotiated with families and will be dependent on the year of entry.
If I am awarded a bursary, what is expected of me?
Bursary recipients will be expected to lead by example in both their studies and extra-curricular activities. End of semester interviews will be undertaken by a Senior member of staff with all bursary recipients. Unsatisfactory performance could result in the cancellation of the bursary offer. Bursary recipients will be expected to show continued commitment to Nudgee College's motto - 'Signum Fidei' - to be a Sign of Faith.
What doesn't a bursary cover?
A bursary does not cover normal schooling expenses such as books, uniforms, excursions, sporting equipment, ancillary fees, and so on.
Final Decision
The decision to interview, the level of financial assistance and the offer of a bursary rests with the Principal. No further correspondence will be entered into.
Equity Bursaries
These bursaries aim to cater for students whose particular family circumstances would otherwise prevent them attending Nudgee College. Recommendations for these bursaries must be submitted through a Parish Priest or School Principal.
